Kuwaiti or non-EU nationals need a visa in order to enter Germany.

The Visa Section of the German Embassy in Kuwait is yearly processing up to 50.000 visa applications for Kuwaiti citizens and all other nationals whose usual place of residence is Kuwait. To provide a fast and comfortable Schenge visa application process, the Visa Application Center of the German Embassy in Kuwait is operated by VFS Global

The type of visa you require depends on how long you plan to stay. Are you planning a short visit to Germany, e.g. for a holiday? Or would you like to stay longer, e.g. to attend university? Please choose how long you are planning to stay.

Short stay (maximum of 90 days, e.g. for a holiday or business trip)

Long stay (more than 90 days, e.g. to attend university, work or join a family member in Germany)

Kuwaiti diplomatic and special passports

Holders of Kuwaiti diplomatic (red colour) and special passports (green colour) may travel to Germany without obtaining a visa prior to the trip if they hold new biometric, e-chip passports and if their stay does not exceed 90 days per half year (Schengen-Visa“).

Family members of ”Subsidiär Schutzberechtigte“ (foreigners who have been granted subsidiary protection in Germany, § 4 I German asylum law)

If you wish to apply for a family reunion to this person in Germany, you need to book an appointment via the central appointment system of the Federal Foreign office. A separate booking on the online appointment booking system of the embassy itself is not necessary.
