The Visa and Consular Section of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany remains closed to the public!
VFS Global Kuwait will restart receiving Schengen visa applications for the Federal Republic of Germany as of April 14th 2026.
Appointments booked between March 1st 2026 and April 13th 2026, which could not be honored due to the conflict, will be contacted by VFS Global Kuwait and provided with rescheduled application dates.
Applicants for National visas please continue to prepare their application via the Consular Service Portal. The Embassy will continue to monitor these applications and assist applicants in finalizing the documents in the Consular Service Portal.
Applications which cannot be lodged via the Consular Service Portal are currently still on hold. The Embassy will provide an update on when these applications can be lodged again as soon as possible.
Applicants who require certified copies or a legalization of Kuwaiti certificates can hand in their documents to VFS Global Kuwait. The file will be forwarded to the Embassy. This service will be available starting April 14th 2026; Sunday through Thursday, between 11am and 2pm, without needing to book a prior appointment.
